Sponsorship

Support here is an engineering investment

Partners fund the materials, travel and workspace behind a student-built aircraft, and get direct access to the engineers who built it. Funding, in-kind support, mentorship and multi-season agreements are all welcome.

Direct access to talent

Share professional expectations, workplace tools and emerging technical needs with students while they are still choosing a path. Recruiting sessions and facility visits are available at any level.

Brand visibility

Your mark on the competition aircraft, team apparel and this website. Named component or livery placement is available at the senior levels.

Nurturing future engineers

Investing in new engineers' talent and growth strengthens the future workforce. Every dollar goes into hardware students design, build and fly themselves.

Partnership levels · 2026 to 2027

Pick a level, or build one with us

In-kind support (materials, components, equipment, services and software licences) is assessed at fair market value and placed at the corresponding level. Multi-season agreements give the program the planning horizon it needs.

In-kind and technical support

Products and services we need

Not every partnership is a cheque. A roll of carbon, a software licence or an afternoon of machining capacity moves the program just as far.

Materials and consumables

  • Carbon-fibre fabric
  • Epoxy resin systems
  • 3D-printing filament
  • Fasteners and hardware kits
  • Storage cabinets
  • Electronics and avionics components

Equipment and manufacturing

  • Laser cutter
  • Large-format 3D printer
  • Desktop CNC mill
  • Portable generator
  • Engineering workstation
  • Trainer aircraft and transmitters

Services and expertise

  • Machining and fabrication capacity
  • Additive manufacturing runs
  • CAD, CFD and FEA software licences
  • Test and measurement equipment
  • Engineering mentorship
  • Workspace and secure storage
Where support goes

Roughly $8,000 a season, spent on hardware and getting there

About a third of the budget is travel to the competition. The rest is manufacturing, electronics and testing: materials, manufacturing supplies, AIAA membership and program costs.

Largest unmet need

A dedicated workspace

The team builds at weekends, when university shops are closed, and has no dedicated storage for airframes, tooling and materials. Solving this is the single highest-leverage contribution a partner can make.

  • Short term · a rented workshop in or around Boulder, roughly $1,000 to $1,500 a month
  • Long term · a purchased tool-shed workshop, about 20 by 14 ft, on a donated or granted plot
